Pro League Committee announces shortlists for season Award Nominees


Arabian Gulf League Awards

Voting for the six vote-based categories of the Arabian Gulf League Awards ended on Sunday, April 22. The categories voted on include; the Golden Ball Awards for Emirati and Foreign Players; the Leader Award for Best Coach, the Golden Boy and the Golden Glove Awards in addition to the Fans' Player of the Year.

The results of the voting produced three-man shortlists for each of the categories, with the winners being crowned at the end of season awards ceremony on May 10th in Abu Dhabi.

The three nominees for the Golden Ball Award for Emirati Player are: Ali Mabkhout (Al Jazira), Omar Abdulrahman and Rayan Yaslam (Al Ain).

For the Golden Ball Award - Foreign Player Category, the shortlisted nominees are: Fabio de Lima (Al Wasl), Marcus Berg (Al Ain) and Sebastian Tagliabue (Al Wahda).

Competition for the Leader Award is now down to the final three: Abdulaziz Al Anbari (Sharjah), Laurentiu Reghecampf (Al Wahda) and Zoran Mamic (Al Ain).

Three youngsters battle for the Golden Boy Award: Mohammed Al Attas (Al Jazira), Mohammed Al Shamsi (Al Wahda) and Jassim Yaqoob (Al Nasr).

Between the sticks, the nominees for the Golden Glove Award are: Mohammed Al Shamsi (Al Wahda), Fahd Al Dhanhani (Dibba) and Khaled Eisa (Al Ain).

Finally, Al Ain fans swept the polls for the Fan's Player of the Year, resulting in a three-way competition between their own players; Hussein El Shahat, Omar Abdulrahman and Marcus Berg.
