Meanwhile, their opponents Al Jazira will enter the game on the back of a 5-0 win over Fujairah to keep them third on 31 points.

Later on Thursday, Al Wasl host Al Wahda at Zabeel Stadium at 20:15. The Cheetahs lost to Bani Yas last week to sit 11th on 14 points, while Al Wahda are sixth on 24 points after defeating Dibba 3-1.

The action resumes on Friday when Dibba host Emirates Club in a bottom-of-the-table clash at Fujairah Stadium at 17:30. The Sailors remain at rock bottom on four point after suffering their seventh defeat in a row. The Falcons, who drew with Ittihad Kalba last week, are 13th on 12 points after collecting their second consecutive draw.

At the same time, Ittihad Kalba will be playing against Al Dhafra at Kalba Union Sports & Cultural Club Stadium. The Tigers, who drew with Emirates Club, are eighth on 19 points, two above ninth-placed Western Knights who earned a surprise 3-0 win over Al Ain.

Later on Friday, Sharjah will host Shabab Al Ahli at Khaled bin Mohamed Stadium. The King collected three valuable points against Al Nasr last week to further extend their lead at top of the table with 37 points. Meanwhile, Shabab Al Ahli dropped points as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Ajman to remain fourth on 29 points.

On Saturday, Ajman will play with Fujairah at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium at 17:30. The Oranges haven’t earned a win in their past five games and have lastly drawn with Shabab Al Ahli as they now sit seventh on 20 points. They will be playing against the Wolves who are in a tough position, especially after their big defeat to Al Jazira, and are now frozen on 13 points in 12th place.

Matchweek 16 concludes with a tough clash between Al Ain and Al Nasr at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium at 20:15. The Boss, have recently appointed Juan Carlos Garrido, will be looking to reduce the gap with leaders Sharjah. They currently sit second on 32 points, five away from the King. Al Nasr, meanwhile, are still struggling after losing to Sharjah last week to sit 10th on 16 points.
