QNB Stars League Week 12 Preview
The 2018-19 season QNB Stars League is into its second and crucial leg when the Week 12 matches are played over Thursday, 8th November, and Friday, 9th November, with three games scheduled on each day.
The fixtures are Al Duhail vs Al Shahania (17:10) at Al Duhail Stadium, Qatar SC vs Al Gharafa (19:20) at Qatar SC Stadium and Al Sadd vs Al Kharaitiyat (19:20) at Al Sadd Stadium on Thursday, Al Ahli vs Al Rayyan (17:10) at Al Ahli Stadium, Al Khor vs Al Arabi (17:10) at Al Khor Stadium and Umm Salal vs Al Sailiya (19:20) at Al Gharafa Stadium on Friday.
Champions and table toppers Al Duhail and Al Shahania will open the action by facing off at the latter’s home turf.
Both teams go into the match on a confident note even though it has to be seen whether Al Shahania will be able to upset the applecart of a marauding Al Duhail side.
Al Duhail, who beat Al Arabi in Week 11, are on top of the QNB Stars League standings with 28 points, seven more than second-placed Al Rayyan.
Al Shahania are coming from back-to-back draws, against Umm Salal and Al Gharafa). The promoted team now occupies a creditable eight position with 12 points and will be hungry for more.
It will be followed by two simultaneous kick-offs (Qatar SC vs Al Gharafa and Al Sadd vs Al Kharaitiyat), also on Thursday.
The Qatar SC vs Al Gharafa clash is sure to be an exciting contest.
Qatar SC had lost to Al Rayyan, while Al Gharafa were held by Al Shahania in the last round.
Al Sadd host Al Kharaitiyat with only three points in mind as The Wolves need to regain the lost ground even though they have two games in hand.
At the same time, Al Kharaitiyat desperately need points to avoid relegation.
Then come Friday’s two early simultaneous kick-offs (Al Ahli vs Al Rayyan and Al Khor vs Al Arabi), followed by the Umm Salal vs Al Sailiya fixture.
Al Ahli are on the back the back four successive victories, while Al Rayyan would not want to drop points as they are still in strong contention for the title.
When Al Khor play host to Al Arabi, both teams will look to get back to winning ways as the former had lost their last two matches and the latter last five games.
