The QNB Stars League’s Week 4 fixtures on Sunday are Al Sadd vs Al Shahania (17:10) at the Al Sadd Stadium and Qatar SC vs Al Duhail (19:20) at the Khalifa International Stadium.
Al Sadd vs Al Shahania
Al Sadd, who have seven points, are on a high after their 3-1 away victory over Iran’s Esteghlal in the AFC Champions League first-leg quarterfinal. They are almost into the semifinals ahead of the return leg to be played in Doha on 17th September.
The Wolves will also be keen to keep topping the QNB Stars League standings with a victory as they have a far better goal difference than strong contenders Al Duhail. And Jesualdo Ferreira’s men look the firm favourites too.
However, Al Shahania cannot be taken lightly as their performance so far suggests. They have four points from one victory and a draw. Jose Murcia’s wards are a spirited lot and will be eager to spring a surprise against strong title contenders Al Sadd.
Qatar SC vs Al Duhail
Qatar SC, on three points from their victory over Al Gharafa in Week 1, have a tough task on hand against QNB Stars League holders Al Duhail, who have seven points.
Qatar SC would count on their star signing Samuel Eto’o to deliver.
On the other hand, Al Duhail are also having a good run, having beaten Iran’s Persepolis in the AFC Champions League first-leg quarterfinal.
The Red Knights would look to be back on winning path after being held by Al Rayyan in the last round.
