Al Sadd renew coach Ferreira’s contract
Top QNB Stars League club Al Sadd renewed the agreement with veteran Portuguese coach Jesualdo Ferreira for yet another season.
The contract renewal of the coach is sure to lend more stability to the side that has qualified for the AFC Champions League quarterfinals, where they are drawn against Iran’s Esteghlal.
At the domestic level, Al Sadd finished as runners-up in the QNB Stars League as well as Qatar Cup, and lost in the semifinal of Emir’s Cup. The Wolves had to be content with the season-opening Sheikh Jassim Cup victory.
Ferreira, who took over Al Sadd in December, 2005, has guided them to triumphs in the Qatar Cup, Emir’s Cup and Sheikh Jassim Cup.
Al Sadd had recently renewed the contract with Spanish midfield star Xavi Hernandez for two more seasons.
