Shaikh Salman pledges full support for Kuwait FA's plans to grow the game
Kuwait City: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa congratulated the newly elected board of Kuwait Football Association after winning the recent elections and stressed his confidence that the new board will help Kuwait football regain its regional, continental and international position.
Shaikh Salman visited Kuwait on Friday, and met with the Kuwait FA President Shaikh Ahmad Youseh Al Sabah, and the members of KFA board, who were elected last week.
The AFC President confirmed that the AFC will provide the support and assistance required for the newly elected FA board to achieve its goals and he asked the new board to provide unity so that the hopes of Kuwaiti football family can be realised.
Shaikh Salman said: "Asian football remembers the impact of Kuwaiti football at the continental level, through the results of national teams and clubs and development of several great stars. We are very confident that Kuwaiti football can regain its position at the continental level looking at the resources it has combined with the strong desire to work hard to develop the game.’
The AFC President also heard the plans and strategies set by the Kuwait FA board, and he congratulated the Kuwait FA President and members on their ideas and determination to raise the level of the game in the future.
Sheikh Ahmed Al Yousef Al Sabah welcomed the AFC President in Kuwait, and explained that this visit reflected Shaikh Salman’s desire to continue the open communication with the Asian football family. He added this helped identify the challenges Member Associations face.
The Kuwait FA President also stressed that the newly elected board will draw up plans and deliver programmes to achieve the Kuwaiti football family's goals of developing the game at all levels
