Matchweek 2 of the Arabian Gulf Cup saw six matches take place over Friday and Saturday with three home wins, one away victory and a draw recorded.

All teams had a share of the cards as four penalties were awarded, half of them were scored; Caio Lucas scored for Al Ain from the spot ad Makhete Diop converted for Shabab Al Ahli while Hatta's Samuel Rosa and Al Wasl's Ronaldo Mendes failed to find the back of the net.
After the end of matchweek 2, Al Wasl find themselves top of group B with six points, following a dominant 4-0 win over Emirates. The Cheetahs are now the only team in the competition with a 100% record.
Al Wasl's city rivals Al Nasr lead group A with four points after a goalless draw against Hatta at Hamdan bin Rashid Stadium. Goal difference keeps The Blues above Al Jazira who overcame Al Ain 2-1 at Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium.
Dibba delivered the biggest upset of the weekend on Saturday afternoon, beating Arabian Gulf League leaders Al Wahda 2-1 to collect their first three points of the competition, putting them second in Group B while Al Wahda remain fifth with one point.
Elsewhere, Ajman got their first win of the season, defeating Al Dhafra 3-1 to move into third place in group A, leaving Al Dhafra bottom with a single point.
Matchweek 2 concluded with a thrilling affair between Shabab Al Ahli Dubai and Sharjah where the two sides played out a 3-3 draw. Shabab Al Ahli add a second point to their name to move into fourth place while Sharjah tail group B with their first point.
