Qatar Stars League preseason friendly roundup
A host of QSL sides have played friendly games over the last few days as their continue their preparations for the new 2017/2018 QSL seaosn, which is set to kick-off on Friday the 15th of September. At QSL online, we have rounded up the latest results in our friendly roundup over the past week
Qatar Sports Club 0 NK Brežice 2 Newly promoted Qatar SC fell to a 2-0 defeat to Slovenian side NK Brežice. The Kings are set to stay in Slovenia till the 28th of August before returning to Qatar.
Al Gharafa 6 Dolayobaspor 1
Al Gharafa picked up a impressive 6-1 friendly win over Turkish side Dolayobaspor, as Jean Fernanez’s new side prepares for the new season. The cheetah’s ran riot against their opponents, scoring six goals. Importantly three summer signings found the back of the net for their new side, with Luis Jiménez, Diogo Amado and Qatari youth international Abdulmajeed Enad all scoring. Gharafa are set to stay in Turkey till the 22nd of August. Al Sadd 8 Al Shamal 0 Fresh from their preseason training camp in Austria, Al Sadd took on Al Shamal in their first match back in Qatar. Jesauldo Ferriera’s side were in control throughout the game, easily dispatching with their second division opposition. Sadd’s Algerian duo of Bagdad Bounjah and Jugurtha Hamroun grabbed a brace each in the game.

Umm Salal 0 Travis 1 Umm Salal were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Dutch side Travis at their training camp in Holland. Head coach Mahmoud Jaber rotated his side heavily for the match, with the Egyptian coach using the tie to cast his eye of the form of his squad.
Al Duhail 2 Al Markhiya 0 Fresh from their training camp in Austria Al Duhail registered a 2-0 win over Al Markhiya, prior to the newly promoted side heading to their training camp in Bulgaria. The newest side in the QSL eased to victory thanks to goals from Yusef El Arabi and Yusef Msakni. Al Khor 3 Bagdad 0 Al Khor picked up a 3-0 win over Dutch side Bagdad in their penultimate friendly of their training camp in Holland. The Knights scored three goals unanswered with Saud Al Khalaki, Saeed Ibrahimi and summer signing David Dasilva all finding the back of the net. Khor will take on fellow QSL side Umm Salal on Tuesday the 22nd of August, after which they will return to Qatar to continue their preseason training. The new QSL season is set to kick-off on Friday the 15th of September.
