Ahead of the new QSL season 2017/2018, we take a look at five players who will be looking to make an impact with their new teams.

Boualem Khouki – Al Sadd

Qatar international midfielder Boualem Khoukhi signed for Al Sadd on a two year contract this May. The signing of the former Al Arabi captain is considered a coup for The Wolves, with Khoukhi a regular in the Qatar national team having scored eleven goals in thirty-four appearances.

Now with his new side, it remains to be seen if the 27-year old will have the same impact he had while at Al Arabi.

Khalfan Ibrahim – Al Arabi

Qatari football icon and Al Sadd legend, Khalfan Ibrahim moved to his boyhood club Al Arabi in July and will be looking forward to some playing time with the Dream Team. In the past couple of seasons with Al Sadd, the 29-year-old did not make as many appearances for the side as he might have wanted to but moving to Al Arabi will give him a fresh new start.

The 2006 Asian player of the year will be looking to prove himself in the 2017/18 QSL season with a new look Al Arabi side under the tutelage of head coach Kais Yaakoubi.

Abderrazak Hamdallah - Al Rayyan

QSL side Al Rayyan confirmed the signing of Abderrazak Hamdallah, formerly of El Jaish, on a two-year contract and this could potentially be a block buster signing for the Lions as the joint top scorers of the 2015/2016 season (Rodrigo Tabata and Hamdallah) will now be on the same side.

Hamdallah is a replacement for Spanish striker Sergio Garcia who returned to Spain in the summer to play for his home city club Espanyol. Hamdallah is considered one of the most dangerous strikers in the QSL, and enjoyed a fine maiden season in 2015/2016 scoring 21 goals for El Jaish.

A long-term knee injury ruled the Moroccan striker out of the majority of last season with the striker only making one substitute appearance in the Qatar Cup final. Hamdallah will now be hoping he can regain his form for his new club Al Rayyan.

Majid Mohammed – Al Ahli

QSL side Al Ahli signed Qatari attacker Majid Mohamed and the thirty-one-year old’s contract runs for one season with an option to renew.

The right footed midfielder moves to the Brigadier’s ranks from Al Duhail and will be looking forward to making an impact in the new season. The former Qatari international has 77 international caps and more than 10 years of experience in the QSL.

Ahmed Alaaeldin – Al Gharafa The young winger moved from Al Rayyan to derby rivals Al Gharafa this July. Despite being just 24-years of age the youngster has gained plenty of experience in the QSL. The Qatari international has had many positive performances for his previous side and helping the Lions lift the QSL title in the 2015/16 season was the highlight of his career so far.

Now wearing yellow and representing the Cheetahs, Alaaeldin will be up for the challenge and having had a taste of title success with Al Rayyan the player will look to add more trophies to Al Gharafa’s cabinet.
