Qatar Football Association Award Nominees Confirmed

QFA Annual Football Award

The board of trustees for the QFA awards headed by HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, head of the Qatar Football Association have confirmed nominees for a number of awards up for grabs on the May 20th event, along with some explanation to the voting process for the awards. Firstly a host of voting forms have been passed around to key stakeholders in football to vote across the following categories: Best U23 Player, Coach of the year & Player of the Year. The following individuals have been asked to make their choice: Local Media Trainers Qatar Stars League teams First team coaches A representative of the Qatar Football Association A representative of the Qatar Stars League Chairman and members of the Board of Trustees for the Qatar Football Association Awards. Best U23 Player- Almoez Ali (Lekhwiya) Yousef Hassan (Al Gharafa) Salem Al-Hajri (Al Sadd) Coach of the year- Djamel Belmadi (Lekhwiya) Jesualdo Ferriera (Al Sadd) Sabri Lamouchi (El Jaish) Player of the year- Xavi (Al Sadd) Hassan Haydos (Al Sadd) Nam Tae Hee (Lekhwiya) Individuals also have the opportunity to vote on a fourth candidate, not on the nominees list, and this will be considered when the votes are counted. The Trustee’s also confirmed again that the Mansor Muftah award, which is given to the top scorer in the QSL season will be awarded to Lekhwiya striker Yusef El Arabi who scored 24 goals this season. The remaining awards will be distributed on the evening of Saturday the 20th of May at the QNCC.
