The UAE Pro League Committee explores Premier League experience
A delegation from the Pro League Committee conducted a visit to the English Premier League in an effort to explore areas of cooperation to achieve highest degrees of development and progress in the world of football. The delegation was headed by Mr. Waleed Al Hosani, Acting CEO of the PLC accompanied by members of the various PLC departments.
Upon their visit, the PLC conducted coordination meetings with marketing and TV broadcasting officials at the English Premier League who showcased the English experience in management and organisation of league matches and marketing campaigns. The brand development project and its impact on commercial performance was reviewed alongside the Premier League competition regulations booklet.
Premier League officials explained the competition's sponsorship packaged, reports about TV broadcasting in terms of production, packages and broadcast rights.
The two sides agreed to strengthen relations and collaboration in areas of administrative cadre and players' development through specialised workshops in addition to workshops in various areas which can help develop the Arabian Gulf League.
Mr. Waleed Al Hosani, Acting CEO of the PLC commented on the visit, "During the visit, the PLC delegation observed every detail about the experience of England, the oldest school in football, and the Premier League which is a global pioneer in marketing and promotion and tops world leagues in terms of commercial revenue generation".
"We consider this trip a complete success and we aim to benefit from the best global practices to raise the level of Emirati football in technical, organisational, administrative and marketing aspects to subsequently grow the rate of success of professionalisation which started in 2008-09 and delivered a great success up to this season", continued Al Hosani, "At the PLC, we continuously look to reach the highest levels of success and development in the professional aspect in line with the committee's 2017-2020 strategy aiming to be a pioneer in professional football".
The trip, facilitated by Sir Dave Richards, the Arabian Gulf League ambassador, included a visit by the PLC delegation to Crystal Palace Football Club, one of the oldest clubs in the Premier League, established in 1905. The delegation explored the facilities at Selhurst Park Stadium and the available services and listened to a detailed presentation by the club CEO.
