Arabian Gulf League; Round 23“Willpower Beats Disability”

The Pro League Committee has dedicated round 23 of the Arabian Gulf League to honouring loyal club fans with disability. The "Willpower Beats Disability" initiative is part of the PLC's initiatives for the 2016/17 season in line with the announcement by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, declaring 2017 as the UAE's "Year of Giving".

The 14 Arabian Gulf League clubs have been requested by the Pro League Committee (PLC) to nominate a fan with a disability who continuously attends matches and supports the team in home and away matches.

Through the "Willpower Beats Disability" initiative, the PLC aims to thank supporters who challenged their disability to go and support their favourite teams, demonstrating love of the game and loyalty for clubs.

It also honoured club founders and former players as "Symbols of Giving", supported "Children with Cancer", honoured women in football, police and in the previous round organised the "Autism Support" initiative.
