Qatar Stars League Team of the Week- Round 23
QSL presents the team of the week for the previous round 23 of the 2016/2017 season. All statistics provided for the team of the week have been provided by Stats, the official statistical partner of the QSL.
This week we have four players from Lekhwiya and Al Rayyan who both picked up comprehensive victories over Al Kharaitiyat and Al Wakrah. Two players from El Jaish made the cut after their 2-1 win over Muaither, whilst Umm Salal also gets a start in the team of the week. First up in the team of the week is Umm Salal stopper Eissa Jafari who picked up a clean sheet as Umm Salal shut out title chasing Al Sadd in a 0-0 draw. Jafari is joined with four defenders, who represented by El Jaish and Al Rayyan. Two El Jaish players are chosen in the right and left sides of defense, with Murad Naji and Yasser Yaqoub getting the nod. Whilst in cental defense the Al Rayyan pairing of Nathan and young Qatari international Musab Kamal complete the defensive quartet. In midfield, two Lekhwiya players get a starting place for their sides 3-0 win over Al Kharaitiyat which saw the Red Knights regain top spot in the league. Luiz Martin is joined by South Korean goal scorer Nam Tae Hee. The midfield trio is rounded off by Al Rayyan captain Rodrigo Tabata who grabbed a hat-trick and an assist in his sides 4-0 hammering of bottom side Al Wakrah, In attack, Lekhwiya’s Qatari winger Ismael Mohammed gets the nod on the right wing. Spanish attacker Sergio Garcia is given a place on the left side attack, whilst the side is completed by Lekhwiya’s two goal hero Yusef El Arabi who leads the attack.
