Qatar Stars League stars head for Qatar National team duty
Qatar National team coach Jorge Fossati has called up a host of QSL players ahead of the Maroons crunch World Cup Qualifiers against later in the month. The Qatar national team is also set to take on Azerbaijan in a friendly match on Thursday the 9th of March at Al Sadd stadium, ahead of their Russia 2018 qualification games when they will take on Iran at home on Thursday the 23rd of March followed up with an away game with Uzbekistan five days later.
Current QSL league leaders Lekhwiya have eight players called up for the games, including youth prospects Assim Madibo and Almoez Ali. Second placed Al Sadd has seven players involved including Hassan Haydoos, Ibrahim Majid and Ali Asad. Fossati also turned to his former club Al Rayyan for five players with the likes of Sebastain Soria, Rodrigo Tabata and goalkeeper Omar Barry all getting a call up.
