“Fair Support”; the “Year of Giving” initiative for round 17 - Arabian Gulf League
The Pro League Committee has announced round 17 of the Arabian Gulf League as the ‘Fair Support' round. The initiative, set to be organised throughout the round on 2nd, 3rd and 4th of February, is part of a series of initiatives the PLC organises in the light of the announcement by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the UAE, declaring 2017 ‘The Year of Giving' in the country.
Following on from the success of ‘Feekom Al Khair' initiative, organised in round 16 to honour workers at Arabian Gulf League clubs, the PLC asked all 14 clubs to nominate one fan to be part of this initiative. The 14 selected fans will enter the pitch with their team players ahead of round 17 matches and will line up with the teams in the pre-match ceremonies.
Part of the PLC's faith in fans and the role they play in every match, the ‘Fair Support' initiative aims to encourage sportsmanship among fans. Promoting loyalty and positive support from the stands, away from intolerance and unsporting behaviour.
